still cant find ammonia

I have looked everywhere and I still cant find any, can anyone suggest UK shop names??

I had trouble finding it to, found it in a shop called "Bevans" it was called "Max Power Ammonia" and cost about 1 pound 50. I think they are a nation wide store as I have seen shops in other towns.

Boots chemist had ammonia saw it yesterday, ask a shop assistant where it is. It was next to the caustic soda, soda crystals and other old fashioned washing chemicals. Or certainly I would recommend the Max power stuff thats what i used.

I shyed away from the boots brand. Perhaps over cautious, but it claims to be an "ammonia solution" without actually stating it is pure ammonia anywhere! Probably is, but I wasn't taking any chances... There was no ingredients listed on the bottle.

That Max Power Ammonia is just pure ammonia about (10%) and water, someone on here(cant remember who) e-mailed the company for the ingredients....

One way to check(I wouldnt sniff it) is to shake to bottle, if its just ammonia and water there wont be any foam at the top, if there is its got something else in it. Thats not a 100% accurate though, just a guide.

yeah, I cant seem to find the max power stuff, the shop you recommended are all populated around the north of wales and its like a 100 mile drive for me. this might be a long shot but hows aboot afterbite ( the insect bite stufff)???

The other thing you could try is urinating in your tank....urine is ammonia I think...

yeah, just found some in my cupboard, it says "Ammonia 3.5% w/v (as Strong Ammonia Solution BP) 14ml" this mean anything to anyone ( afterbite is a medical thing that helps mosquitoe bites)
