I know I know.. I shouldnt try to match the match the water with my fish... but is there a way to raise the hardness of my water to better care for Malawi's?

I Have a 55 gallon using a Magnum 350 Pro (w/biowheel) most likely going to stock Milawi (mbuna's) ok, so once I have my tank cycled and the water changed (and assuming parameters are in check) I should what percentage of the water how often :unsure:

ok, I've been looking around, and I found a nice variety of fish that i want, but im not too sure how compatible they are. I am going for very colorful fish, hence the mbuna's, and I will have many rocks in my tank. A mbuna/malawi tank alone would be fine with me but I would like to also have...

hmm.. one more Q.... is room temperature ok for them or do they require a heater? our room is about 75 degrees all the time, if not warmer.. they like to overheat us.... Im looking for a ruff estimate on cycling a 10gallon tank... ie how long does it take? maybe a week or so? thanks

Well my roomie and I have decided we want to get a small tank going in our dorm room (prolly a 10g) and I was wondering if the dwarf frogs need to have the water/tank cycled just like fish? If so we may have to hold off on our plans. B)

I ordered a magnum just the other night, I think Great Lakes was saying that if possible I should mount the canister at tank level, because it will put less strain on the system. Do I remember this right? If so I believe I have the room to do that if it is really that beneficial. (not too sure...
