HI guys I'm hopefully going to be getting a 200ltr tank in the next few weeks, i was looking at external filters for it but i don't know what is best.    I quite like the Fluval G3 Advanced Filtration System (300L), i really like the features on that one like water temp etc.    Thanks for advice

ok sorry about last night   I have done another water test on my tank today and its still showing the same, i also did a test on water straight from the tap and its showing as .25ppm.   Why can't i get my tank to drop in ammonia levels? i have done water changes but that doesn't seem to be...

Hi again I had my water tested at 2 different LFS today and they are both still showing the ammonia after a week I was told to just keep up the water changes. Is that right?

So should I leave the plants in just now or take them out the tank?

I think i might have found the case of my ammonia being up, i think one of my plants might be dying   STUPID QUESTION ALERT!!!!   How would i know if the plant was dead or not? I can upload a pic of it tonight after work if you want to see it but the top bit seems to be going down to the stalk...

thanks for your reply    the thing is i had it tested at my LFS and they said the same thing and they gave me API quick start to use as they said with that level of ammonia that my bacteria would all be gone... Is that right?     I'm so confused right now....

i did cycle the tank before adding fish,   i cannot seem to get this level down tho, my fish don't seem stressed in anyway they acting normal and eating fine...   if i can't sort this i can see this being the end of fish keeping for me... i don't want to be harming fish.   i have been doing...

i have green media inside my filter,    and was a couple of weeks ago i think i asked on here how to do it, but can't remember exactly when.    i cleaned the 2 pads in the filter    and i use tap safe and also put in stress zyme    thanks for your help :)

oh jesus i bought them to put in the sand for my panda corys but the tetras started eating them too....   I don't like the sound of that, these were frozen blocks of them...

My ammonia level seems to be sitting at 1 ppm and i can't seem to get it down, i am doing 20% water changes every 2nd day. Is there anything else i can do to bring it down.     Thanks

I fed my 3 panda corys and my 6 neon tetras bloodworm today but the neons look like they are ready to burst is this normal?    I'm guessing they will be missing their next feed anyways they look like they eaten a 6 course meal lol

For some reason the other day my fighter fish started going after my neon tetras...   he had been in there for nearly 2 weeks and just randomly started doing it, he managed to get ahold of 2 of them and took bites out their stomachs   is this normal?? he seems to be leaving them alone again now...

i did this the other day and i put all my fish into a mop bucket and put the heater in with them so the water would stay at the right temp   it shouldn't take too long for it to settle enough you will still have some particles floating in the water but as long as its not too major then you...

hi folks   sorry to bother has again but i have 3 panda cores in my tank and i have veggie tablets for them for feeding but i find that one tablet is too much for them and i have food floating about in my tank after feeding.   what I'm wondering is can i just half a tablet or am i better to...

i figured out i was doing it wrong i have managed 2 buckets now only  a little bit left to go and all will be done,   i have seen people saying to put some of the stones into tights and sit on top of the sand for a few days to let bacteria transfer do i need to do this?   i feel daft bothering...

im guessing the water never runs perfectly clear have been rinsing out the first bucket for ages now and its still not perfectly clear yet    sorry for all the questions folks

ahh ok and I'm not too sure to be honest they test for ph, gh, kh, no2, no3, cl2 if you know what they are lol    was told that was all that i needed to test for.... its JBL easy test 6in1 strips if that helps any 

yeah i have test strips but I'm not the best at reading them yet i don't think i find it hard to decide what colour it best matches lol   have just tried to rinse a bucket of the sand before work but its not quite running clear yet so will need a few more rinses i think lol, I'm guessing this...
