I recommend you buying Eco-complete as your substrate, since you'll be doing a planted tank, normal substrate dont fare too well.

I dont know about a ghost, if you get a small one, you have a chance of butterfly making a dinner out of it. If you get a large one, it'll outgrow your tank faster then you think. What kind of knife fish are you planning to keep?

Its not true that they like to be in a group or so. If you want to lessen their aggressiveness, i think you've to keep like 5-6 of them and I dont think you can keep those many in 60 gallon. I recommend you stick with one elephant :)

I think the pic. you posted is the same fish you are talking about. They're not aggressive and if they are not fed well, they'll hunt down small fish to satisfy their hunger. HTH, FMZ

Hey bryce2003, Can you post a picture of your BGK if you possibly can?? I want to learn how to differenciate between BGK sex.

Could it be that people who tried to keep 2 BGKs at the same time ended up getting 2 males or females? Maybe BGK just dont tolerate the same sex.

Live bloodworm or blackworm? Glad to hear yours is not aggressive.

DOnt think any species of eel would do good in it. Plus your platy's will be its food later on down the road.

I wouldn't recommend putting in the BGK with them. If you really want to, make sure you give your BGK a lot of places to hide and also make sure you have like 6 barbs so they chase each other all day and not pay attention to BGK

your bgk will be alright with tinfoil barbs only if its really big like 10+ " if not, i dont recommend keeping it with barbs other then that, cathfish and clown loaches would be fine.

get some live blackworms, my fish up here go crazy over them
