Your PH should raise as you do your water changes

I would do a daily 40% waterchange for a week until your stats are 0. Your Ph looks a little low too.

What are your stats? & how often are you doing water changes?

One of my cardinals kept dissappearing at times & then would reappear every other day or so. That was until this morning, when i noticed 1 had died. Im hoping it was the one that kept hiding as i have read that its not uncommon for 1 to be left out the shoal.

I agree, i had the same problem Friday. A 50% WC was done on Friday, 30% Saturday & 30% Sunday. I had my water checked today and it was fine. Altho i have just done another 30%.

I take it you washed it?

Thankyou Anthena ... I did think 80% water changes twice a day was OTT. Im gonna do a 40% change now & do a daily 25% for a while whilst paying my LFS regular visits. The biggest container i have is only 20 litres so i will have to fill this up twice. I originally kept my full 20 litre...

Ok .... just phoned bk up ... It appears that my readings are Nitrate 5.0 Ammonia 0.25 Nitrite 1.0 Hes saying that because i have 1.0 Nitrite it is reccommended to let the tank setle a couple more days before i take another water sample in & we will take things from there.

Do you think i should phone the guy up & tell him? I did feel stupid asking for fish & he told me my PH isnt up to standard

Wouldnt it depend on how strong the bulb is? Where are UV lights usually situated?
