Danios are very active and good hardy beginner fish, don't find to much personality but would be good to start off. Barbs are also good starter fish with some personality.

I am thinking about dumping all my community fish in my 30 gallon and getting convict cichlids. This is because the community tank has gone on for quite a while and I would like to have some aggressive fish in it. My cousin's convicts just had babies - about 200 and I am thinking about taking...

I didn't know about balas and IDs getting too big until I got them so now I will temporarily home them but I hope to keep my cichlids until adults. I'm not getting venustus they grow 10"

It just seems like such low filtration to have like 2 or 3 turnovers of the tank an hour.

A lot of fish stores sell real rocks. Otherwise you can find your own rocks and put them in boiling water to kill any germs.

His belly isn't that sunken anymore but, he is obviously not dominant and gets picked on a lot. I have had them in there for 2 weeks. So, could I take out the dominant one who seems to be in perfect condition? Then leave the one that could have a sickness in there? The only thing I noticed...

I agree with kribensis, new life spectrum is a great food but deffinitely on the pricey side. I have the small pellets from them. I also have wardley cichlid flakes, My cichilds love them.

Blue dolphins work?? But they still don't have the nice deep blue. Also I'm looking at a white cichlid. What would work in my tank? I don't care if it's albino or not. Would an ice blue red top work?

most likely being 40/60 would a male female pair stop them from getting picked on more or anything. I'm determined. Are there any other beautiful blue fish that would go with my mbuna? Looking at deep blue like ahli.

Are there any fish that will eat fish waste? corys? BN plecco? anything? If there is what would go well in mbuna tank. Also I don't have an algae eater. I've heard BN plecs are the best for cichlids but why not chinese algae eaters??
