Ok so i have some guy on "that other site" who thinks this is a great stocking list. I highly disagree and addressed that only to be replied by your 21 and your lack of exerience shows. Thats why i love this site. I get the occasional ribbing but its all in good fun and knowledgeable to say the least.



Do you want an awesome tank that puts Saltwater aquariums to shame?!

Try this list;

3-6 Tinfoil barbs (beautiful shiny silver color with red tail, sometimes black stripe, tinfoils will keep your tank moving and cichlids from hiding)

(as long as you don't get large or aggressive fish, add the next couple of species)
6-12 Red or Turquise Rainbows
12-24 giant Danios
6-12 Yellow Labs (Labidochromis) This is a peaceful african cichlid I keep in most freshwater communities. If you have at least 6, they will multiply like crazy.
1-3 Blood Red Parrots (What personality, you will love these fish)
1-3 Blue/Red African Jewel fish
6-12 Angelfish
2 Green Severums
2 Gold Severums
6 Hoplo cats (Hoplostern)
6 Clown Loaches
4-6 Plecos
2 Tri color Sharks
3 Irradescent sharks

500 gallons i believe at least thats what they are claiming. Im finding lots of bad information on the site. Anyways yeah assuming its 500 gallons i can see it working but i cant see them thriving.

I mean 500 gallons is quite possible. Although he claims that if you find a common chemistry, meet in middle that they will THRIVE in the tank and go on to be very healthy and breed and blah blah. I just dont see it happening at all.

Fishlover i know ive given you a tough time in the past but even you see why this is no good. I mean that in no way bad at all.

I would like to reply to your "Terrible Stock list" comment. I have serviced 1000's of clients aquariums, not to mention belonged to various fish clubs and have extensive knowledge of fish compatibility. You are obviously unaware of the meaning of "dither" and "target" fish and top, middle and lower level stocking levels. You are also unaware and uneducated as to fish which do not compete with each other for resources will get along nicely! If your reference is to chemistry and temperature, as long as extremes are avoided, these fish breed, grow and live out their FULL lives together!

You can talk to me when you kept a fish thriving for 16 years; Prochilodus, from 1990 to 2006.........thats almost as old as you! This fish was 16 inches and about 5 lbs!

Mario I wasnt speaking directly too you i was referring to your horrible selection of fish. No fish will THRIVE they will survive but not THRIVE!

As for your 16 year old fish im not doubting your skill and expierience. Dont use that as a coy to talk yourself up and talk down on me. Im 21 years old ive been keeping fish for many years and have had tremendous sucess. Talk to me when you can take criticism.

I think closer to 3ft i could be mistaken. We are also talking about a "500 gallon" tank which someone was asking for stocking advice. That was the list the "expert" suggested.
