I know for sure that glass cat fish will live happily with a male Betta (well I can't vouch for every male Betta but I know this combo has worked)..... as said above you def should not keep a male and female Betta together but the Glass Cat fish is fine in with the male. I have seen a great set...

I would love automated but too expensive the cost of setting up my tank already has sent me broke I will prob get a automated one down the track though but for the moment I would like a semi-atuo or manual depending on prices and how each of them operate then weigh up which one to get.
