Betta's are very strong fish and can tolerate bad conditions. With that said tho just keep doing water changes till it is all cleared up. If you can get some established media that would be good too even just a squeeze of the sponge to get things going.

Snails are fine, i wouldn't add anything else not even shrimp, bc one day the betta will take a fit and kill it.

I will have to agree with you. 5gall minimum is what i recommend and a heater/filter would be great! You can buy those 5gallon rectangle tanks they don't take up much space bc they are small. 15ltr is only 3gal, please get something bigger so at least your Betta can swim and spread out much...

Just an update, my betta is still hanging in there despite no medication was added yet. Gonna try and get some today I had no time at all :-( I'm so bad!

Looks like fin rot to me, and possibly some internal problems as the first pic she seems rather thin, almost like fish-tb. Sorry for the loss keep an eye on the rest of your tank.

Went to wal-mart they did not carry any products for Dropsy. So i just did another test here are my results. Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 5 Not sure what's going on with the Nitrates but it didn't change nor have the others been effected. Could this be a false result from the kit?

I did a 50% water change and fed some peas just before i left for work this afternoon. No medications were added as of yet, tomorrow i will go out to buy something by Maracyne. But before adding the medication i will re-test and change the water if needed.

Just did a test this morning here are my results. Also my snail died for some reason :-( Ammonia 0 Nitrate 5 Nitrite 0.1 edit: i use Hagen test kit, they are each in individual boxes water test kits.

Hi hes with a snail only and the results are normal from the chart. I use liquid test kit with the tubes.

My betta developed a big belly. I cut back on the feding and just fed pease. But this didnt help. His belly still there. He swims and eatingfine tho. I do water changes every week. You guys should see what they are doing in Japan. Selling baby turtles, fish, lizards in keychains alive! so it is just as bad as the Betta's left in dirty cup water.

Over time your plants may go brown, get holes, and die. That is my experience with these types of tanks and lights.

Wal-Mart keeps them in cups still. Others have them in small bowls here. I find that they die instead of sell.
