Very weird. It says if it's less than .75 add more ammonia. so i'm i suppose to add more if it's at .50?? I just added the cycle formula.

heater is at giving almost 80F PH is 7.6. filter is running yes. so it's ok to add Cycle formula?

Thanks Ch4rlie. Did another quick test this morning, nothing has changed. Looks like it will take some time for a nitrite spike.

Ohhh I read wrong and added ammonia. I take the water from the surface too. I will test again for ammonia and nitrite. I rinse the tubes out and lid, as well as use the lid to shake.

Iam on day 4, did the ammonia test it came back at 1.0 so I did a second dose of ammonia (5 drops). I've ran the entire tests 4 hrs later. pH high 7.8 pH 7.0 Ammonia 2.0 Nitrate 0 Nitrite 0

Just got my ammonia today added 5 drops per-gals. tank is setup with just the substrate and the filter has carob and bio-max sac and a big sponge. atm ammonia reads 2.0 i will test tomorrow.

Oh okay so a single male betta it is. I purchased a master test kit atm, but my ammonia did not arrive as of yet. I didn't setup the tank hey still.

the Ammonia stuff still did not arrive, looks like it will be at least 2 weeks. Is it okay to setup the tank with the substrate and live plants for now till the ammonia comes? also, was thinking of doing an all female betta tank in the 5gal. How many can i add, was thinking 4?

Looks like setting up this tank will take some more time haha. I got the Ammonia  NH3/NH4 Api liquid test bottles and the tube. I just got a question. If i order this DrTim's Ammonium chloride 930, is it necessary to buy the 002 bottle, if so can it be substituted with the cheaper ones like...

I agree with ricefish. Apparently they are using Sambo fish from El Salvador. And I read they are dumping them down drains and sinks.

Just wanted to know people's opinions on how they will be dumping fish into waters, to eat the larvae of the mosquitoes which have Zika Virus. I always thought doing this is not good because it will effect the ecosystems or something.

My friend offered me some bacteria from his filter he has for over a year. Do I just squeeze his sponge in the tank?

Okay I will search for the ammonia stuff at home depot and Walmart. Can I add substrate, plants, decor after the tank is cycled. And do I need dechlorinator during the cycle times?

Thanks Hunterprey. What is the best way to start the cycle procedures. Does the frozen shrimp or dropping flakes in the tank method still work? also do i need to use water chlorinater during the cycle process?

I just picked up the tank i was lucky. because a local pet store change is going out of business, and everything was 10-80% clearance. I got the tank for $70 with tax from the $159 listing price on the shelf RCA It is the same white one you posted. Thanks for the information about the heater...
