Diy Led Project (led's On A Budget)

you will need a different driver for the xml led's ,xml led voltage around 3v x 3 =9v minimum for the driver is 18v you also want to make sure they are contant current and not constant voltage. so different driver for the xpg aswell

Diy Led Project (led's On A Budget)

if the led is 1000ma maximum ideal is about 800m - 900 ma that way you get very nearly all the light but without the strain on the led so it lasts longer. well thats what i do in all mine anyway others may think different. if you want the 3w led and less than 20w get 2 10w drivers and run 3x3w...

Diy Led Project (led's On A Budget)

but that would be only 12w and running the led's flat out and also the driver. It says on the page not to run the driver at full wattage as it will reduce its life. Would work but for how long. your choices now.

Diy Led Project (led's On A Budget)

not on that one because that one was done with separate drivers :) but as per your altered drawing is how to do it. post #17 3x6v minimum yes but up to 3x12v LED's like the ones I linked you to and with this driver you will not be running them 100% so you will get longer than the average five...

Diy Led Project (led's On A Budget)

never needed lens with these yet they have 140 degree spread which is no worse than you average t5 tube set up, plus by not using lenses it reduces the spotlight effect often seen in set ups that do use lenses. btw ross sent you pm with aluminium.

self tapping screws, drill aluminium and screw led's in place. BandQ search aluminium. Or you may get some elsewhere the thicker the better, previously mentioned is 20mm wide x 10mm high x 1m long i think lol no resistors if using proper driver.

Ewww I hate the term imbalance used in association of planted aquaria. Hello Everyone, I Have A Few Newbie Questions

just for your information it takes longer than a week to cycle an aquarium/filter and it requires a source of ammonia to feed the growing bacteria. Plenty of information on the forum about how to do it. Have a read and enjoy the hobby. Remember nothing good happens fast in fishkeeping.

    Hair Algae

Typical causes of hair type algaes are: low CO2, low nutrient levels (or excess light which gives the effect of the previous reasons)and ammonia spikes. Nothing to do with excess iron as is sometimes commonly thought. Removal Can be very difficult to eradicate at times. A high plant load with...

    How Can I Improve

going that you have ill plants and algae AND a phosphate test reading of zero(unreliable) that IMO is a good place to start, using the previous, obviously your water changes do not supply enough phosphate so you are going to need to add some. When you add a source of carbon you increase the need...

    Hair Algae? Please Help

and how could you suggest keeping the co2 level up in a low tech tank? The best compromise if suffering from BBA that water changes may be causing due to the co2 in the change water is to leave it to stand 24hrs before use and to change water after lights off this will allow co2 to degas and...

    Hair Algae? Please Help

    Is This For Real?

watts is not a measurement of light it is a measurement of electricity. It is perfectly possible for a 17w lamp to produce the equivalent light output as that of a 75w incandescent lamp. you need to look out for lumens or par or rarely even pur these are the measurments that concern the light...

    Im Going To Sccrrreeeeaaaaammmmmm.......

If treating the tank to lower its ph you will have issues with fish health. reason is that you add stuff to tank to lower ph, it does this slowly so after a week say your ph in the tank is 7.5 you then do your regular water change 50% problem is your tap water is high ph so as soon as you add it...
