The fact that they can help to destroy parasites is something that's surely beneficial.

They are for clearing cloudy water, helping to get rid of algae and also killing some parasites thereby helping to prevent some diseases. My main reason for wanting one is to help with algae and to improve water clarity.

It's actually part of the castle and as such is made from resin as is the rest of the castle. In other words, there is no actual flowing water.

Yeah it was fairly close mate lol. The castle was definitely she who must be obeyed idea! I wasn't too keen on it to start with, but I must admit it's kind of grown on me now. The fish definitely seem to like it given all the nooks and crannies it affords them.

Unless they are specifically for use in aquariums, I'd seriously think twice before putting them in your fishtank.

It's not unusual for similar coloured schooling fish to school together. Since green neons & ordinary neons are very similar I think there's a good chance of the schooling together.

She certainly looks pregnant to me. I would say she'll probably give birth quite soon though I cannot be more specific than that.

I'd feel awful too, but it's inhumane to leave it to suffer and that's why I suggested euthanising it. It's not something any of us would want to do, but I feel it would be kinder for the poor fish.

Personally, given the state of the fish, I think the kindest thing would be to euthanise the fish.
