Ok. so, new tank just finnished its cycle on thursday morning, so thursday night I introduced 3 corys and 2 chocolate gouramis One is extremely ill but I can see no visible symptoms.. only indicators that its unhappy. It hides all the time or is in a location with no water current... it seems...

i'd simplify it as.. how long does it take to cycle a tank? Here in valencia, I need to got LFS to buy safe water for the tank.. and they reccomend a "shelf life" of 3 months with the bottles kept in dark cool places.... Tap water is as hard as the glass of the tank itself!

but nitrite levels are rising just as fast as the amonia..... and it should rise after amonia has risen for a few days? correct or am i experiencing something normal? This is my first cycle with a FULL test kit.. last time I just tested for nitrite only and waited for the spike and its fall...

dont have a calcium test.. but i can tell you.. before we installed the calcium remover.. we had to clean all tap heads weekly or they clogged up. I've learned that this calcium remover doesnt.. it adds salt and only counter-acts it.. from a spanish form it seems i'm actually better off using...

Slightly confused.. in short I should use the spring waters from the mountains here because its measuring the same as the tap water.. but hasnt been treated (for worse then better again in this case) Correct?

Got that opinion after he sold me "rocks" which turned out to be broken up bricks for 3€s a "rock"... and he had broken a brick into 4 or 5 parts...... Think the "sand" came from the med as well.....

ok so.. Been to the mountains and got a water sample from the most remote of the fountains.. ph 7.5 kh 14 gh 28 amonia 0 nitrite 0 so seams like its bottled water for me... maybe 50-50% bottled and tap water mix?

Tap water test: PH 7.6 kh 214.8ppm 12dGH GH 125.3ppm 7dGH amonia 0 NO2 0ppm

I had one with that exact "infection" I tried for over 18months to sort it out with various medicines and natural healing liquids etc and NOTHING touched it. In the end I gave up, mostly because he didnt seem to be bothered by it.. he always had a wee bit of character and seemed to "know" it...
