I got this wee fellow (and another) on the 31st August. Last week the other died, it appeared for no reason! I thought maybe the other one attacked it?

Over the last week or so I've noticed this weird 'thing' on it's face.. any idea what it could be??

Thanks

Please? I thought some sort of fungus, but it's not like hairy. My other fish are fine.

All three that I had got sores like this and passed on couple of months after buying them. There is a pin in the relevent sub-forum regarding dwarf Gouramis and the health problems they suffer.

well i no youve found out the hard way but dgs are realy weak fish and are very prone to bacterial/ funga infection ..

are you treating it?

I had one with that exact "infection"

I tried for over 18months to sort it out with various medicines and natural healing liquids etc and NOTHING touched it.

In the end I gave up, mostly because he didnt seem to be bothered by it..
he always had a wee bit of character and seemed to "know" it was me walking past the tank rather than my GF or visitors... all this kept up so I left him as was..

If you ever do work it out let me know.. i'm interested to know as i'm thinking of adding a DG to my tank after its cycled, I liked the one I had.. the feelers give them character..

Ulcers are pink or red with a circling of dead white tissue around the edges.
Columnaris can look like fluffy pink cotton wool.
Is it ulcerating away as it hard to make out what it is in the pic.
