i managed to get hold of some from boots just last week. its in a white bottle with a red lid and is branded 'boots household ammonia'. its about 2 quid a bottle (i think - i had the same problems getting hold of it because they were out of stock constantly so when i saw it i didnt really bother...

you should be ale to get hold of some glass t-cut or something from halfords, or any car accessories shop. its usually based around use on hard plastics, but it should help things a little. worth a try for a fiver or thereabouts. may take a while to do a whole tank though

well, i havent got my first tank up and running yet, but on one of many trips to the lfs in aberdeen (waterworld aquatics - seems very good in there btw. fish all seem miles more ative than pets at home!) my girlfriend was looking at some fish she would like to stick in the tank after xmas...
