hi, am am planning to set up my first tropical aquarium just after xmas and am currently in the process of buying all the bits and pieces i will need later on (i figure if i buy everything on different days it will seem like i am not spending as much overall!)

i have spotted a freshwater master test kit (link to product: http://www.petstore.com/ps_viewitem.aspx?idproduct=AP3321 ) however, it seems to be a fair bit cheaper than the competition in my local pet store. i was wondering if it mattered what kit i get, or if anyone had used this kit and knew if its worth spending a little extra to get one from tetra or something

cheers

There good test kits and you get more for your money.

I use the "Freshwater Master Test Kit" and had no problems with it. I was recommended it when i first started keeping tropical fish by someone on this forum.

Hope this helps,

Shaun

I use this and it's great - easy and convenient. Also this is a good price, cos my LFS sold me the same thing for around £25! :/

Irf.

Quick word of warning though, I have found the nirate test on those kits to be awful. I had two samples from the same tank d side by side. One came in at 160ppm the other at 0ppm.
