Neale is correct the only thing you can keep with puffers is another puffer no other fish will be safe ,i've kept quite a few and they are vicious little devils. i did have some sailfin mollies in my brackish tanks with a large green spotted puffer ,they lived together for about 4 months then...

you never can tell with GT'S some are fairly placid and some are mean ,there is only one way to find out, i would go for it if it was me, nice looking fish by the way :)

my lfs will give me £2 a fish for bristlenose and generally will give a third of what the fish would sell for but every shop will be different.

it's normally the tap assembly thats the problem the new ones are modified and have a double seal, if you have a new motor head and new tap assembly i'm you should be sorted after all there nothing more that can go wrong everything that can cause a problem is in the top half of the filter :nod:

dwarf puffers are fresh water only, i've seen some shops with f8 and green spotted puffers wrongly labelled as dwarfs, f8 and greens are brackish fish.

i've found some large section of filter pads that you can cut to shape on ebay :)

i've just bought a tetratec ex1200 filter secondhand but it's missing the media is there anything cheaper i can use other than the original pads as if i buy them new i may as well have bought a new filter. i read somewhere about using scouring pads but obviously they can't have any cleaning...

not all red devils are a bright red some are almost white.

i've tried the scrubbing method but you can never get it all off and it comes back really quick. what i did is buy some spare rock so you can rotate it, i leave the rock with algae on outside for a week and it's completely clean by then.

i've got a aquaone aquis 1050 external good filter very quiet and easy to start when it's been apart.

i've got a small aquaone tank 30litre that came with a aquaone internal filter the tank is in my sons bedroom and the filter makes a right racket , can anyone recommend a small filter preferably with adjustable flow that is quite :)

i've got some multis and my ph out of the tap is 7.2 ,ive got tuffa rock and coral sand and the ph is now 7.8 and the multis seem to be doing fine.

i've got bumble bee gobies and also sailfin mollies in with my gsp and they get along great.

only problem is i don't think you can buy aquaclear hob's in the uk, if anyone knows where you can get them in the uk i would be interested.

could you tell me how much space you need at the back of the tank for the filter, i don't have a lot of space at the back of the tank :)

do a search for "Eheim External Filter Liberty" look good, a bit more expensive than the ones on ebay but eheim are good filters normally.

i fancy changing my internal filter for a hob for that extra bit space in the tank, anyone know where to get one in the uk it's for a 20 gallon tank and do they make more noise than a internal filter.

i can recommend abei puffers i've got one and he's a great fish, mine is very active and is always out swimming unless he has eaten too much then he hides in his cave. he is very aggressive and cannot be kept with any other fish, i have a ceylon and GSP's puffers and the abei is easily the more...

i've been looking to buy a aquaclear hob filter for ages but cant find one anywhere in the uk, they get great reviews.

i've recently hatched some Fundulopanchax Gardneri fry, they are about 10 days old and have been feeding on micro worms and are all doing well, i have to go away for three days and don't have anyone to look after them, do you think they will be ok or is there something else i can leave in there...
