Hello,

I have a problem, a serious problem. :-(

I'm addicted, addicted to bettas and I can't stop it. :-(

But that's a good thing!!!!!!! :hyper:

I have two new CTs, a deep red and a dark blue with black. Setting up their new home as I write. Will send pics as soon as everything is set up. They were less that $4 a piece.

Seriously, do I have a problem yet?
But maybe perhaps, I'm addressing the wrong people as they are slightly, just slightly biased to my cause. :S

Peace

yep
we have another betta mad person on the forum!
would love to see pics they sound really nice!

Still a baby to the betta world, the total's only 4, but have room for 5. :hey:

haha youll catch on fast...almost a month ago I started with two...no im at 11 plus I might be getting some pairs from a breeder in florida haha....trust me your numbers increase quickly~ haha

I started with 2. Got another one the next day. It went downhill from there. I am now up to....let's see, I have to count....13 males and 8 or 9 maybe 10 females. And I don't breed them :*) . I just seem to collect them. When I go into my favourite lfs, the girl always asks me which betta I would like today. I have been very good lately though. I lost a couple of males to unknown causes and didn't get anymore until Wuv put up her adoption thread. I got 4 beauties from that.

Welcome to the club, it is so much fun. Bettas are definately my favourite fish. In fact I loved them even before I started keeping fish.

I appreciate everyone's enthusiam! I am going to post really bad phone camera pics of my set up. It'll be a planted tank, which I adore. It's incredible what one can do with live plants and tank dividers.

Don't worry about the pictures all I have is a camera phone as well!! I am desperate for a digi cam but can't afford one right now!
Bettas are addictive and in all honesty I'm not completely sure why!!!
I certainly am!!!!
It's a great thing to be addicted to!!

These fish rock! They look like aquabid rejects, I can't believe they were so cheap!

I'll post pics and you let me know what the heck these guys are. I suspect CTs, but the anal fins are huge, as is the rest of the finnage! They look HM when they flare, but can you have multiple tail types? These guys make Fassolt and Fafner look bad. So the old setup will be called Earth, and the new setup Valhalla (sp). Of course the new guys will have Norse God names!

I'm such a geek.

:S

Picture time, picture time!!!

I'm assuming I'll have to post multiple replies as I have quite a few pics.

Here is the initial tank setup. Noticed I divided it into three sections.

Here is the finished betta setup.

It wasn't hard to do really. The plants are all real and I have about 2.5 wpg which is pretty nice considering my ghetto fabulous setup. I did the same thing I did to my 15-gallon and they are thriving, but you'll have to stay tuned for more pictures.

:p

Is that black stuff you used to put the dividers in like a sealer? because I am about to put plastic canvas into my tank to split it, but I don't know how I am going to make it stable.

Round two,

The first betta is the red one. As I had a betta named Loge, I was hesitant to use this name until I saw him and realized that there could be no other name for this fish than the God of Fire! So he will be called Loge II in deference to my first Loge, but we'll all call him Loge for short. I just fell in love with that intense red. My crappy camera phone does him no justice. As soon as I buy a digital camera, I take the time to take real pictures. so please bear with me. Also, bear with the bubbles. :S They will go away.

Here is a picture of him flaring for the camera. He's a show off.

Again, I apologize for the quality of the pics, but on this one, you can really see the finnage, and my camera phone. :sly:

Of course, where there's fire, you must have water. Next to Loge in the setup is Donner, the Norse God of thunder and rain, according to the opera. Again, camera does no justice, but you can get an idea. As extroverted as Loge is, Donner is introverted, though he will flare too. They just finished the "Who's Prettier" contest, and I call it a draw!

Again, apologize for the bubbles.

Thank you for letting me share my pictures. Sorry about the photo quality. But it was fun posting them.

No, not sealer at all, it is a component of the plastic divider. It looks thick, but really, it doesn't hinder the size of the tank at all. I love these dividers. They work really, really well. You can find them at most pet stores, and they come in the sizes for common tanks. The only way I can describe it is that the dividers are kind of set up like the kind of report covers where you slide the plastic cover into a binding. The principal is similar. They were not too expensive. Your solution is probably cheaper than mine, but I'm not as creative as you.

Haha yours might be safer though than mine, I'll find out soon enough and let you know LOL
