Utter confusion..

I've had these two in the spawn tank for two days now

No nest to be seen which is surprising because even though this male is fairly old,he's a ninja when it comes to bubblenesting. Now he acts clueless

Here's what I just came home and found him doing...nothing...just hanging out and cruising the tank :grr:

So I fed some grindals,which only the female took. Then she tried to show him the ropes (she's the mommy of my red spawn). She explained that he is to blow bubbles under the cup, not out his gills willy nilly as seen here (notice her showing him where the cup is)

Aww, how sweet is this? Sounds like she's a good girl though - if he has to be shown the ropes, it's good to have an experienced, gentle partner... :wub:

IF there are fry,they certainly will be interesting. Before spawning this female with the red,I never noticed that she does indeed carry marble (which is easy to see now that I look

) So it's hard to guess what would even come out of them :unsure:

This is moreso a curiosity spawn but I think they'll be cute. As if there ever was an ugly betta

Wow, what a cool color is he...is that considered an MG? Or something else? Or is the camera just messing with his colors? I think it's time I got a pair in the spawn tank too, I'm thinking my Opaque female with my steel male (the daddy of my blues).

Nope,that's his color. This is that green mask I was telling you about a couple of weeks ago. I got him at the show in Houston last May,he's just been hanging out in the fishroom since then :lol:

Figured I'd put him to work and see how he does. So far nada, I just peeked and the female...the FEMALE is under the cup blowing bubbles

I think I might pull him in a day or two,do a water change and throw in my black/tuxedo plakat.

my male builds nest in his bowl all the time but when i try to spawn him he wont maybe remove the female and wait for him to build a nest :dunno:

What kind of camera do you use, and on what setting?

You take really clear shots, like they are standing still for you, which I am sure they are not!

I hope it works out, I want to see what the fry look like so bad. He is really unique.

My cameras nothing fancy. Less than $200,a Sony Cyber-shot 3.2, set at VGA size (smallest pic) zoomed in to 2.9 and usually on auto setting with low flash.
