very nice setup DG, I feel tim allen syndrome coming on. is that 3.5 you got from a 3.06? I noticed the hyperthreading detected. B)

water cooled? whats that groovy red liquid in the resevior? looks like a verry nice mashine you got there dg mines only air cooled but i did get a pelter i think thats what they called it pad thing for the cpu...i have not installed it yet am woried i will mash up my puter  .

Yep its a 3.06 :)

I used to have a vapochill which cools the cpu to -22 oC! But got board so sold it and build the water cooled setup to use a peltier with. Bought a 220w pelt but bottled it after killing my xp1800. So just running it with 2 rads. Specs are:

3.06HT @ 3.52
512 pc3200 DDR Twinmoss with TT heat spreaders
Abit IT7 Max2 Ver2 mobo
Enermax 550w
Abit Siluro Ti4600 128 DDR (320/720)
Creative Audigy
Pixelview TV/Radio card
120G WD
Digidoc 5
8 x CDRW
Pioneer Slot loading 16X dvd
Bloo Neon tube
UV Coldcathode
Chieftec Blue Dragon Full Tower
All the internal cables have been covered with black braiding

Cooling:

Dangerden 2-2 Waterblock
1 x deepcore radiator
1 x Blackice radiator
Idra 1300 l/ph water pump
Glass reservoir
Orange water dye (looks pink but glows orange with the UV light)
Various glow in the dark stickers.
4 x 120mm papst fans
1 x 80mm hard drive cooler.

that is one sweet box. I need a new one but my new tank, my fiance's new tank and outstanding credit card bills come first. in that order :p

sounds like you belong on the bit - tech forums ... i cat remebr what case i have on there at the moment i know it ends in tech alu should have gone for the lian li but they where expencive back then. oh and my other one has a globalwin 802 ive only got one window tho.

If u wanna use a peltier, then u better do your homework first!

You have to work out the heat radiated from your cpu in watts and check that your peltier can absorb it (that depends on the voltage of your pelt).

Next you will have to power you pelt via a seperate psu. My 220w pelt should have ideally need something stupid like 40 amps! So what watt is your pelt? A 156w can be run of a 300w but you need to loop the 5V rail with a 1 ohm capacitor ( i think) to compensate for the 12v rail power load! Also if you use one psu, or the psu that has got no voltage load protection, the psu is liable to catch fire!!!

Then next thing (the most important) is cooling the hot side of the peltier. If you've got a pelt over 60 watt, then you'll need a watercool setup just to cool the hot side of the peltier.

Then if you manage to overcome all this, then you have to worry about water condensation. If you dont cover the cold side of the pelt which does not touch the cpu core, these areas will cool the air to ice which will melt into water.

So, yes you will mash it big time if you dont do it properly.

Apart from that, you'll have no probs. :D :D

I used to go on bit techs forum, but its pants compared to theoverclockingstore forum.

cool pc the new one i was buying this weekend looks kinda silly compared to that lol! sheesh i was going for a xp 2.6ghz 120gig HD, 512meg (ddr 3300) expanded to 1 gig with a 128meg graphics dual head and tv out! better go hide under the rock again lol :-(

Check this out guys :hyper:

Just did it now. Not bad hey :)
