released both orange females to the males this morning and found them wrapping this evening,at the same time funny enough. Must be the rain  Anyway, first up is the male I spawned last time and I'm pretty sure he's going to fail miserably. I see eggs in the nest and the female is spilling them everywhere but he's just nose under the nest ignoring everything and wagging at her on occassion. Second male is a first timer and he does me proud. Unfortunately his female seems almost out of eggs, while his loser brothers woman has more than she can handle

Here's the first pair looking pretty rough

Beats, great pics.

Put the tanks closer together so the bad one can learn how to do it like slick rick. :hey:

sounds cool

any progress??

Thanks for the well wishes guys.

I took both females out this morning. Male #1 came out as well, his nest was a mess and he had a real attitude about him. Second male is doing very well, his nest is beautiful and he's tending it and he seems protective, good. I figure if there are eggs in tank 1,I can transfer them to tank 2 if need be. Or try a fatherless hatch, not sure.

fisher~ I just found your emails in my junk box!! Darn msn

How exciting! I bet it's a birthday pretty much every day at your house with as many spawns that you have. ;) Congrats on the new arrivals!

 That girl is huge! She is so ready I love it  The orange spawn is the greatest most versitile betta, I'm so glad you're continuing that line :) How are they doing today?

All right Kelly! Whoo-hoo! I'm glad the first hurdle is over, I know how much trouble you've had with this line spawning. Great pics too.

Spank you guys. Now if I can just leave him alone  I'm usually not nosey and I give a male tons of privacy....(sometimes I've even forgotten to check to see if a spawn has hatched!) but I can't control myself with this one. I'm on pins and needles :look:

Bad news about spawn #1, there's nothing. Nada. Zip. Just a few fungusy eggs on the bottom  hmmm,he reminds me of somebody

Steph~ she is a chubs, that's for sure. I almost took her out and threw her in with the other male but I didn't want to mess up by making an abrupt move like that. What a waste, she was spilling eggs everywhere while the other male couldn't get enough

Well you sure the heck know who to put her with next time! Wowsers. She's all hot to trot and he's shooting blanks. Go figure. :X Do keep us updated on your great dad.

Even famous racehorses sometimes come up duds in the breeding shed. Sounds like your #2 male will be for admiring only. Sounds like your other fella might have a busy winter ahead of him! :hey: :D

aaaaand....we have fry  I just went and checked,it was really hard to tell at first, then I saw them swirling around under the nest  Papa is doing well. When I peeked at him this morning he was incredibly bloated. I wanted to yank him out but I'm hoping he's so full of bad eggs that he'll save a few for me :)
