Well, I didn't seperate the kapuas when they got here. Instead I packed them full of food for a few days and today I found them embracing ) Ughh, it's so beautiful!!!
They embrace like normal splendens but the male stays in a curve and catches the eggs in the fold of his body. The female then picks up the eggs one by one off of him and twirls them in her mouth. Then she swims in a circle, arches her back and spits them out while he rushes to catch them. His mouth is packed with eggs. The eggs are at least 10X the size that of a splenden. I got some great shots so here's a few. I don't expect this spawn to be successful. He may swallow the eggs.
Here she is spitting a few eggs (she would do them 3 or 4 at a time)
