My Managerie of Tanks

Jinx, some of my kuhlis liked to hang out in tall or floating plants. Scared us all when I saw them do it the first few times. I reached in & touched 1 & we both freaked out! Then it got so I could reach in for water changes, etc. & they never moved. Maybe the most mellow fish I've kept. Mine were semicincta (a species of striped). My black p. oblonga in the same tank were not so mellow, always active. Which species do you have?
Oh I can relate to this a bit. Mine will sometimes go through plants and will stop moving lifelessly hanging out of plants 😂
They once hid sooo well I thought I lost most! Mine also haven't tried jumping out of the tank, yet.

As for species, I have no idea.

I have submersed pennywort, it surely loves climbing out 😂
It's such a great plant. It's my favourite plant all around. Great to float, to plant, to grow emersed, to tie to driftwood, there's sooooo many ways to use it. And it's easy, bright, and fast growing. Lots to love about it

Yeah, it's really great. I just hate how mine just grows straight horizontally lol.

That's fairly normal for it since it's a creeping plant, but you can utilize that.

Yeah, I'm planning on getting more and scatter it about. How I moved my plants about today showed me how much I hate my pennywort being in one spot in a clump.

Photos of the 6 footer as of last night fresh after water change.

Bonus, emersed ludwigia palustris growing in one of my goldfish filters. I can't grow ludwigia under water, but it does so well emersed lol

My ludwigia melted underwater 😂
Mine too, every time. Except ludwigia orange Atlantis. Only one that lives under water for me lol

For me it's a lottery, either one does well over time then dies or just does well or simply ceased to exist lol
