Never heard of that brand....
I'll order that. Gosh, I'll try to have Opal hang in there until Nov 5Seachem Kanaplex. Didn't know there where other brands...
It CAN damage their labyrinth organ. That's because it contains Tea Trea Oil BUT only if you use it for extended periods or use too much. I'd not recomend it obviously, but IMO fish don't die from melafix, they die because melafix is not strong enought to kill the fish's desease and the desease kills the fish. And then the owner blames Melafix....Melafix is actually. Especially on species like betta with the labyrinth organ I believe.
A lot of times meds like these can be deadly. The medication can be harsh and I believe in only using it as a last resort.
I would recommend @Fishandto stop using the melafix and JUST use the salt for a few days...
It has been reported that a lot of labyrinth organ fish die due to this medication
If it damages them it shouldn't be used. That's personally my view...It CAN damage their labyrinth organ. IMO it does when it's used incorrectly.... like most other meds. But it's not a good medication. It's not strong enough to treat anything. So I agree it should not be used.If it damages them it shouldn't be used. That's personally my view...
I'm really sorry I wish there was something else I could do
@WhistlingBadger maybe you can help?
@JuiceBox52 I don't know if you have dealt with fin rot before on your betta?...
