So, the past week my snail has been glued to a particular leaf of my plant with his foot out, kinda hanging upside down. He has moved up and down the leaf (not much though) and hasn't moved off the leaf in days. His antennas comes out every once in a while but other then that nothing.
He's in my betta tank and I'm wondering if he is afraid of the betta?
He was born in the tank with a previous betta who recently passed and this new betta is a bit more rambunctious but I haven't seen him actually go after the snail.
Thoughts?
Here's a pic....

Hmmm...if he’s not moving then he’s not eating. Unusual for a snail. I’ll admit that I’m no snail expert but my tank is full of them. Did you add any plant food containing copper or anything else that could have made him sick? Anything containing copper?

No, nothing has changed. I feel kinda bad for the guy. I was thinking of moving him to my 75 gallon to see if it's the betta freaking him out but I have assassin snails in there and I'm not sure if they will try to eat home. He's pretty big but assassin snails are evil little suckers and may just be able to get him.

The betta is picking on the snail, would be my bet...I had a betta that would constantly pick at a snail's eye stalks.
The harassment could be happening at night, when you aren't watching.

Ugh!!! I guess I can move him to my 75 and hope the Assassin's are too small to get him ?

What happened? Did your Assassin's eat him or did something else go wrong?
I'm thinking of removing him from the leaf and placing him on the substrate to see what happens. I guess if the betta is bothering him I can have my husband take him to work to put in his tank.

I had read about assassins "ganging up" on larger snails, like mystery snails, and eating them....didn't believe it until I saw it for myself.

Wow! That's what I was afraid of. I have a ton of trumpet snails I threw in to keep the Assassin's fed but I'm guessing they would probably go after my shy guy since he's a bit slower. I'll try moving him off the leaf and if he's still not moving transfer him to the hubby's tank.

So, I moved him off the leaf and placed him on the substrate. Within 10 minutes he was climbing up another leaf. I thought maybe he doesn't like the substrate but it's been the same since he was a baby.
At least he's moving but I'm just curious to this strange new behavior.

Have been watching the tank for several hours and sure enough the betta keeps approaching my snail and flaring at him. He doesn't actually come in contact but I guess it's enough to stress out my little guy. I decided to move him into my son's betta tank in hopes his betta is kinder. I told him to keep an eye out and if he sees any agression to let me know asap. If worse comes to worse the snail will live in a cup until my husband takes him to work Monday.

check after lights out
do a water change and gravel clean to make sure everything is clean
it could be eating algae or the plant leaf.
