If I burn my tank will ich & worms survive

How did you use the Flubendazole?
Did you leave it in the tank for a week for each dose?
Or did you remove it after 1-2 days? (based on what you wrote).

Flubendazole can last a week, but for severe cases, you may have to redoze it after 3-4 days.
My method of each treatment is to leave the medication in the tank for a week until my water change day.
After my water change, I will redose again.
I will redose each week for at least 4 week.

If Flubendazole can't get rid of the white poop, it could internal protozoa which require Metronidazole.

Colin mentioned in the past that there are 3 possible causes for white poop:
1)Internal worms
2)Internal protozoa
3)Internal bacteria

I think both Flubendazole and Metronidazole have some effects on the bacteria based on internet info.

Keep in mind that in some cases white poop has been linked to constipation. If all else fails this could be as simple as changing what you feed! I know someone had a video made by a vet, wish I could find it.

If you think it could be constipation, you can try Epsom salt.
Epsom salt acts as a mild muscle relaxant in fish and a dosage of 1 to 3 teaspoons per 5 gallons of tank volume can be effective in helping to treat constipation in aquarium fish.

But in most cases, its the internal worms or parasites and they can also cause constipation.(based on info from a breeder's book).
Nevertheless, you can try both.

Thanks for the clarification :)

I followed the forum advice from Colin to clean gravel & water change and clean filter (in dirty tank water) 24-48hrs after you dose. So maybe that's the issue and I was meant to leave the medication sitting in the tank for the week. The instructions don't reference any water change. It was seeing those thin worms after a gravel.vacc they concerned me & started this thread.

I will keep a close eye - it's seems the lightest poop is that one fish.

Yes, the medication need to be in the tank as the eggs can hatch any time.
But for worms that can be seen, it could be detritus worms which are harmless and which the fish will eat them.(my guess)

I don't think the wriggly work is causing harm. Been closely watching the tank and no sign so I am convinced they are in the substrate. They are not present in my new tank or my tap water (got bit paranoid there!). I think the additional feeding for all the fry is likely part of the issue.

No white poop from fish. I think the platy posted was pale & he's been ok.

No sign of ICH so I think it was just some dirt on the fry's tail.

It's been 18 days this round of high temp so might start lowering the temp now.

I think I just panicked when I saw the wriggly work in the water.

Aren’t we just looking at detritus worms? If so, you aren’t going to get rid of those. They live in the substrate of all tanks. You only see them when you over feed.
That was my thought too. Aren’t they harmless to fish? I’ve read some fish with eat them. ‍ My suggestion would be to just clean the tank more often and hopefully they will at least get to where you can see them lol I’ve seen some in my shrimp tank that I converted for my betta. Started cleaning deeper in the substrate and more often and haven’t seen any since.

Ich hasn't returned yet after nearly a week at lower temp. I also noticed the platy has pale poop & dark poop but not white. I bought some other foods to mix it up & improve their diet. Gonna try find some frozen/live options too.

I took the fish out on Saturday into a bucket with air pump & some plants. I sat the filter in there too unplugged. Did a deep clean & removed substrate. Cleaned tank with water & a sponge. Put play sand in & added everything back.

Fish went back in. Been doing daily tests and so far so good. Tank is looking much better!

It looks great! Where is the play sand from? I want some the same!

Dangit, I want some!

Tanks look fantastic next to each other  Love the contrast of one with dark substrate, one lighter.

Yeah I really love the light & dark :) Elliot much prefers the new location of the tank too. He turns around after his dinner and we sit and watch and talk to them. Earlier he ran up to the tank & said "cherry barb creature report!" So I've to tell him all about Cherry barbs. It's very cute.

That's too precious!
You seem to be raising an awesome kid :D
