Hello all, my name is Caleb and I am from san Diego and keep fish with my twin 8yr olds. Boy and girl

All our tanks have been switched to live plants in last two weeks w plants and nutes from aquarium coop.

We have
One 5gal planted (no animals)
Two 10gal planted (one guppies , one quarantine tank)
One 20 gal non planted. NEW tank and fish I just picked up today. Please help identify fish.
PICTURES BELOW
I think Buenos Aires tetra, maybe Congo tetra and a ram????? There are also 2 cherry barb in this tank. I know I will need to get them more friends. Maybe cherry barbs stay in 20gal and the tetra go to 55

One 29gal planted (11 red eye tetra, 10 glass bloodfin tetra and a blue eyed long fin pleco)
One 55gal planted (currently finishing cycle no fish yet)

Thank you for any advice.

Caleb

Gold ram, Mikrogeophagus ramirezi.

Cherry barb.

Buenos Aires and a Congo tetra. These will get too big for the tank size, the 55 should do fine. And they will need schools.
Can I leave a school of cherry barb in the 20gal that seems adequate for their size when I move tetra to 55?

Hello and welcome to the forum, tetras are shoaling fish that need a least 6 but the more the better for them. I have a 55 gallon tetra tank with red eye, neon, ember and glow light tetra. I try and have at least 8 of each. My biggest shoal is 14 glow light tetra. What type of water do you have? Tetra are a soft water fish.

Hello Caleb, and welcome

I'm a newbie here myself and have been made very welcome, and I'm sure you'll experience the same.

Is the second picture a White Cloud Mountain Minnow (tanichthys albonubes)? If so, they are a shoaling fish and he'll need company. I had some of these umpteen years ago, and they remain a great favourite of mine. The fish in the first picture is beautiful! I'll be interested to see what is identified as.

Whoops! Just seen that I was
a) too quick off the mark and the fish have been named
and
b) the second pic isn't a white cloud, but a cherry barb (not often I'm right, but I'm wrong again  )

As you were, folks - nothing to see here.

I agree, it's a tough world. They will need a good education if they want to make it into the big tank.

UPDATE!!!!!
First off thank you all, I took the Congo tetra and Buenos Aries tetra to local mom and pop fish store. They had some in the store they could school with.

The Golden ram is very skinny. I plan to FULLY medicate this tank just in case internal parasites.

I then got more cherry barbs and took plants from some of my other tanks as I learned that they like that.

Here is the current work in progress. I hope fishes are happier than just one of each fish and no plants.
