This is a picture of my stand before I made structural reinforcing and varnishing (sealant). Hope it helps you. It's a pine (oak) cabinet stand, cost around 200 CAD.
I build that with the help of my dad... it was very easy and took maybe an hour and a half to build, and a day to do all the staining so that it matched all the other furniture in the room
Here's a pic of the stand & hood I built last February for my 65 gallon. Used the garf plans to build the frame, & skinned it with finished one side plywood, had no plans for the hood, so just had to wing it.
my friend builds stands (1$ a gallon i think so a 60G with cabnets would be like 60$) just to let you know... im sure you want to DIY it makes it... i dont know... like if a friend comes over... you can say you build that...
