Okay so I got this Betta for my girlfriend today but I don't think the tail looks right (First time owning a Betta so just taking a guess here).
In the store it was in a dark little tank (Size of a jar) So was not able to look at the fish properly.
I have put the fish into my cycled 16L tank with a Bristlenose catfish (They don't take much notice of each other).
Here are some photos of the Betta Pretty much just asking if someone could take a look to confirm nothing is wrong with it Thanks

A bristlenose catfish? Are you meaning pleco?

Are you serious? You need to rehome as soon as you can... not trying to sound rude. My tank is too small for one and it is 65L. He may be small now but the amount of waste he produces will build up quickly. Small tanks do not stunt growth, he will outgrow the tank.

I was going to move him to one of my other tanks once it has got bigger its like 5cm long (including tail) at the moment. Would he make too much waste even if I clean tank twice a week?

Yeah they do get quite big. Rehoming him as soon as you can would be the best idea :)

I agree with whats already been said, BN Plec is absolutely not suitable to be in such a small tank even alone. Even while he's small its not suitable. BN's are absolute poop machines lol. The betta/fighter is all you can have in there really.
The betta looks fine btw, to answer the original question. Just looks like an ordinary veiltail, his tail might be a little on the short side, if he's young it may grow a bit longer, not sure. You are probably thinking of a halfmoon betta that has the massive round tail.

Oh okay thanks guys will move the Pleco back with my other 2. Oh cool glad the Betta is good condition :D

Oh okay thanks for that. You wouldn't know the Bettas Tail is good would you? The top half seems abit shorter than the bottom half.

He doesn't look particularly high quality if thats what you mean. As I said his tail may grow out a little more if he's still young but it may just be he is poorly bred for good finnage. Time will tell.  Most bettas here in NZ are not very well bred, just people throwing two fish together without any thought to quality. My first betta was the most raggedly crowntail I have ever seen lol.

108L.
Ah I see hopefully it will grow out abit more. Haha
does anyone know if I could sell the Pleco's when they do get big?

Yeah, I would say so because even 100L seems too small for one pleco, let alone 3. Maybe sell 2 or 3 now...

But they are Young Plecos at the moment. I myself don't see it being too bad for them in a 100L till they do get larger.  in which I would sell/giveaway to someone with a bigger tank or I might end up with a bigger tank.

A true Bristlenose Plec will grow to a maximum of 5" (13cm) long they are often referred to as bristlenosed catfish, bushynosed plecs or bushynosed catfish
as it's encompassed in the loricariidae family of catfish and can live for about 12 years. From the images you've posted your Betta looks fine, and healthy water stats will ensure he remains fine
