I have a 35 gallon tall hex tank---this is my first attempt at aquascaping.   Added a nice piece of driftwood on which I planted 2 Barteli Anubias Nana---2 other nanas are planted on rocks.   I have 2 Java Ferns at the moment but plan on getting some more for the background.  Got some Anacharis in but haven't planted yet but they are small so won't make much of an impact for awhile.  The fish seem happy in their new surroundings.  Just got over a bought of ich but it seems fine now.  Now for some pics:

Great start!! I hope you're enjoying the art of aquascaping! Your tank is pretty tall/deep right? Have you given any consideration to using a taller piece of wood for the centerpiece? Maybe some Bogwood? Just a suggestion :)

added jungle val on 3 sides of my hex tank---will be adding a different pc of driftwood by end of week

one more pic

Nice FM!!!! looking good. Once the plants grow out a little you can get a good idea of some changes to make. This is an excellent first aqua-scape, much better than what I did!

Looks great! Can't wait to see with the new wood!! :)

Nice job so far.  It's going to look great .

Keep it up! My main suggestion is to look at a lot of pics from other people! Gives a lot of ideas!

Since last pic. I have added a tall pc of manzanita wood...and set it up to look like a tree...today I slapped together a small cave out of flat rocks and flagstone. This is for my baby bn pleco which you can see in the pic below.
