Hi all,

promised I would put up some nice photos from my trip, so here they are!!!!

Picked some of the best from over 600!!!!

First up I will start with a place we visited in the Drakensburg area called sani valley, a huge lake dammed off for fishing, with wildlife on the plains surrounding...

Next set of pics I will put up are of Umfolozi game reserve. 100,000 km of protected wild bush....

Then a coastal reserve/marshland called Mapelene....

And finally some pictures of Ushaka marine world, a huge themed aquarium in Durban, built in a shipwreck!

will take a while to edit and post all of them so may take a couple of days!!

Moving up the valley and up a track that you can see on the next picture, we drove accross the border to lesotho (small country within south africa) and climbed 2900m by 4x4. Took a few hours but was worth the view, got to see a village at the top of the pass (sani pass) and drink at the highest pub in the whole of africa!!

Wow. Absolutely breath taking. Did you feel peaceful while you were there? I am now adding Sani Valley on my list of places to experience.

Hi rykitten,

yes very peaceful. The view is awesome! The locals were very friendly as well, got shown into their stone and cow dung huts, and tried the beer and bread...amazing!

Its a bit colder than you would think as well, see this stream below near the top that doesn't get much sun!!

Will post more pics of the second part of the holiday tomorrow when we went on safari in mfolozi......

yours sleepily...
