So I picked up a great tank setup at a garage sale yesterday, it came with everything but the glass cover. I'm trying to find a lid for it, but I'm have a hard time.

I measured the tank and it came out to 36" (wide) x 15" (deep) x ~16.5" (tall). I've been to petco, petsmart and another local store so far and all I've gotten was a 36 x 18 (40 gal breeder) which was too deep, then a 36" "Versa-Top", which wasn't wide enough (and barely made it the width of the tank, it fell in easily).

Looking online, I can't find any tanks with the dimensions this one has. Anyone have any idea what I have or how to get a lid for it? Thanks.

(The tank has wood trimming, if that helps any)

Does the tank have a brand name? Maybe you could google it and find the corresponding lid.

I can't find a name on the tank. I called a few more places and someone told me I might just need to get glass cut to fit it and add the hinge myself. Thanks for the reply

That might be the only option. Sorry for this bout of bad luck! Hopefully its not too much work. Keep us posted! We want to see that tank when its done!

Thanks. Here's a picture of the setup right now. I'm planning to combine the 10gal on the right with my 20gal (not in picture) into the 40gal, then move my shrimp from their 5gal to the 10gal

So I ended up going to Lowe's and got two pieces of glass cut the width of the tank and have one just slide back over the other instead of a hinged lid. Works great and ended up costing way less than any other lid would have cost :)

That's some good news to hear!
