Firstly did you cycle the filter, you said you started it from today and you have 8 platys
Is this correct ?

And having it hanging over a table is not good, have a bucket ready m8

It's not cycled; we've been advising with that on another thread :good: I would expect people in the Lebanon to have to fish-in cycle; as ammonia can be used to manufacture explosives, there's zero chance that it'll be available over there!

Agreed! That looks terrifying!

cameleon; glass tanks need to have very good support underneath; anything that makes the glass want to twist or bend will crack it.

Firstly; most 'normal' furniture just isn't strong enough; if you wouldn't feel safe with you and a large friend standing on it and bouncing up and down, then it's not strong enough to hold your tank. If you can't source a proper aquarium stand, you can build 'towers' of bricks or concrete blocks to hold it.

Secondly, tanks need supporting along the whole of the base on a plank of strong wood or plywood, plus they need to have something like polystyrene tiles, foam or carpet on top that will even out any tiny imperfections in the surface that could cause the tank to crack.

I'd move it somewhere else, properly supported, ASAP; that could go at any moment. You will have to empty the tank completely before you try and move it. Tanks aren't designed to be moved with anything in them, and it could cause the seals to fail if it has any weight in it when being moved.

the tank have been filled and the filter is working since yesterday noon, so i know the cycle haven't been done yet, also i put fresh clean water in it, so i know there is no , or not much if so, a level of toxicity in it, and i 've added a bacteria product to help a little bit...

about the table, i can't help, that's the only thing i have hehehe, so far still holding

Then I would put it on the floor, as for toxicity keep a good eye on it you will have some as soon as you feed the fish and they go to the loo

I am stunned at how polite the members are here! Any other message board I belong to (other topics) would be ripping this one apart!

Its true pete, but at the end of the day how would that help? It would probably frighten off the member from the forum if not the hobby.

ok guys !! im really desperate, i fixed my leak, and 3-4 days later, (i let it dry for like 20 hours)i came back home from work, there was water on my floor.....there was a little hole, comming from the front panel at the buttom.....now i've cleaned the area real good with a razor blade....now how can i remove the silicone that is stuck in between the front and buttom panels ? when i pass the blade, it only slice in between...

You don't need to remove it all; just enough that the new silicone (do make sure it's a proper aquarium one; the bathroom ones usually have a fungicide added, which is toxic to fish) can grip on to the new glass and make a good seal.

how long should i wait before i add water again ?

get a decent unit for it to sit on before it cracks, also bottled water is usually worse for fish than treated tap water, should have researched first, anyways, below is a link for idiots who dont know what they are doing, hope this helps http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/freshwater-aquariums-for-dummies-cheat-sheet.html
