My common plec is an ideal portrait subject, being the only fish in my tanks who will come to the front and stay still for a while!
Hats off to all of you who are taking great pics of 'always moving fish' - I'm only a beginner at fish photography and armed with only a basic Fujifilm Finepix Z series camera it's proving a fun challenge getting a collection of decent snaps. Anyways, here's my 10" common plec posing for the camera:

nice shot . my plecs would rarely if ever play ball for the camera , with the exception of my old golden nugget .

Thanks guys - yeah this pleco has become a real family pet, despite being a total poo machine!

You sure it's a common plec? Seems to be showing a fair bit of brown/orange on him.

And yes, their poo is immense!

Hmm, I'm not sure no - it was sold to me as a common plec and I haven't really questioned it until you've just said!

I think the camera has exaggerated the colours on the photo in the original post - so here's another bodyshot photo showing his more typical colours although he's looking a bit patchy trying to cammoflage himself. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on a new identification :)

Nice pics minnt, he's definitely similar to your plec on those photos - thanks for the plecoplanet link, I'll have a proper look this evening :)
