(Sorry about the amount of background info but the actually question starts from the second paragraph)

First my main question is this-
I've only reciantly got into the fish keeping hobby (and i really love it- more any other pets I've had) and my original plan was to get a group of Rosey barbs and a group of Guppies and keep them in my 90L tank. Did the research and checked compatability etc. all was fine (though didn't find out about fishless cycling sadly). In the research i also found out about a large number of other species.

However when i went and bought the fish i did something really stupid and bought an albino paradise fish with them (which i new to be a bit agressive though from what i could ind only with fist resembling Paradise fish). Luckily they got along very well (the paradise was a bit of a whimp and just stayed out the way) however i bought some slightly more fancy guppies (the originals where very young and short finned) and he chewed them up pretty badly and stressed himself out in the prosess(he seemed just as afraid of them nipping him)- so i moved him to the only spare tank we had; a little 12L thing. So my question is- is he okay in there? He is still not fully grown; only about 4/5cm and i will be getting a bigger tank for him eventually but after setting the first tank up(the 90L) I'm now flat broke, but i don't want him unhappy.

As for the other questions-
One of the guppies i get is a reddy/orange colour and quite bright. However after getting him home I've noticed a few things- first off where his stomach would be he has(when catching the light) an almost neon green splat on both sides. He also has some purple and blue colouration on his tail , just before the fin(no matter if he's in the light or not but he didn't have this at the shop) and on both sides near his gills a very solid red colour (it looks somewhat like he's been injected with ink or something) making a dotting pattern going across his head and is almost identicle on both sides. Is any of this something i should be worried about?
He doesn't stay still long enough for a good picture but maybe this will give you a better idea of what i mean (i pointed to where each of the colours are but the only clear on is the purple and the green doesn't really show here at all)

I couldn't comment on the guppy but I would rehome the paradise fish pronto. He'll probably survive OK for a while in the 12l but it won't be great for him, better off just finding him a new home.

Okay thanks, i'll get him a bigger tank ASAP what size would be best? Do you think 40L would be okay (Thats what i can get hold of quickest)

The colors on the guppy looks like they are just his coloration :) Looks like he's just irridescent :) I don't think you need to be worried :)

+1 Big Tom...rehome your Paradise...and as for the guppy with nipped fins, make sure you keep the water super nice and clean so that his fins can heal cleanly and quickly! :)

Your paradise fish will need at least of 60-70 litres

okay thanks everyone-will sort the paradise fish out and I'm very glad the guppy is nothing to worry about- he's quite the charater
