I bought one of these installing it in the tank the other day. Seemed to be doing a good job but peaked at 27c despite my required temp of 30c called the help line and re set it like they said and they said it has to be on a 45 degree angle. So iv installed it above the spray bar at the top of the tank fully submerged and the spray bar slightly sprays onto it.

Is this ok? Anyone else have this heater and where did you place yours?

Have you checked the manual to see if the numerical cap on the setpoint knob needs to be calibrated by adjusting it relative to the underlying actual rheostat? You must have an external thermometer to calibrate it (forget if its your thread where we've already discussed this recently?) WD

iv moved the position of the heater to a 45 degree angle just underneath the spray bar in the centre of the tank. It looks slightly on the eye but has worked perfectly. I have fully submerged it as apposed to just the min water line.

In the instructions it says vertical with water no less than the in water line. When i called customer services they said it should be fully submerged at a 45 degree angle :-S not what the instructions say lol

see what you think of its new home originally it was to the far left hand side on the back wall vertical.
