I have counted 15 today. I think the bigger they are getting the easier they are to see! They are in 2 groups most of the time, today there was 6 in one group 9 in the other. Bless them

heres the pics...- (ps, the apple snail piccy is just because i find them cool and funny!

Looking great! So you only have 13 left? How large would you say they are?

Mine will be two weeks old next Wednesday, I still have around 30 left.... I will post a spawn log soon... They seem to be growing really slowly though.... They are still TINY! :S

Great thread! Can't wait to see them when they're older! :)

No, i said i counted 15. But today i saw more.

I think as they are slowly building there labrynth organ now, and ae swimming alot more, so they are easier to see! :)

Edit: This part of the forum is slow, so i might stop updates or lessen them.

Hi, id appreciate it, if you wouldn't hi-jack my thread LilyRoseTank.

hey all!
I couldn't help but do an update! :)

I took about half an hour trying to get pics, and a few of them are really good, if i say so myself! lol

Its looks as if they are getting bigger everyday!

These 2 are with flash:

Hope you all likey! :)

Hi aly_starh :)

The fry are looking very good. It's natural to lose a bunch at the beginning and the reasons are often varied and beyond your control. Once their labyrinths have fully developed the chance of the rest of them growing up will be greatly increased. :D

thanks Lacuna and Inchworm

Some bad news though, i had to euthinise a fry today as it had a big red thing coming out of its head. He couldnt swim either and was panting on the bottom of the tank. :(

Too bad, but it is sometimes better that way. He probably would have died if he wasn't swimming and panting at the bottom.

Neat spawn thread. Good to see more of these here. Beautiful pairing as well.

I suppose so, i thought it would be better to end his life rather than him being in pain.

Ah thanks! :) Hope the babies look good!

Sorry to hear that. :( It must be one of the hardest things about breeding fish - having to cull the ill or deformed ones while they're young. Sounds like it was for the best though.
