Let me post a couple of common livebearer sex identification pictures. This only applies to poeciliids, not goodeids.
The male has a long thin anal fin that is used as a sex organ, much in the same way as a mammal. These are two pictures of males of different species with the long thin anal fin.
Both are males of very small species of poeciliids. Now some pictures of females of the same species with a triangular, some call it fan shaped, anal fin.
My pictures of platies are not as good but this is a male platy

Feeding would be good
Are they in the main tank? has if they were in a fry tank i would suggest daily water changes.
Has long has you keep their quarters clean and not overfeed them they should do fine

i never thought of that, might help i guess, just ground up fish flakes ok then.
Yeah there in the main tank, now got them in i floating breeding trap with some plant,
Cleaning the trap, how do i go about that.
Just done a 50% water change.
Shell i keep up with doing a 20% change every day.
