Don't get sick of them yet, you guys. They're just now turning into good breeders :wub: . I'm going for it again, first up is the tank they'll be spawning in, the tank on the right is holding the last spawns fry, I hope they don't get traumatized by mom and dad doing it next door :lol:

Harassing the girl, you can see how beautiful his finnage is (aside from the bite marks from past spawns) :rolleyes:

Thanks you guys! We need the luck, my female just doesn't seem interested yet. She alway does this coy crappolla and then I catch her spilling her eggs and chomping them down when I put her back in her tank :X :rolleyes:

so u use the shallow breeding method? how has it been working? im considering trying that this time around... what size are those tanks? i got a 3 gallon i might try shallow breeding in... but it has rocks in it :(..

those are really cool fish.. i dont think ive ever seen an orange betta :D

@wuvmybetta
use some more tricks for those kinds of females :rolleyes: :lol:
first of all, keep the light down in the breeding tank and prepare a place to hide for the female. second, darken the water with capatta leave juice :kana: and put a little bit of salt in the water (1 teaspoon / 10 litres will do!) - you`ll see, that helps. if not, ask for some more tricks :whistle:

It works pretty well, I have to take the male out everytime because he's an egg eater, so I lower it even more, to about 2" or so. These are 5 gallon tanks, I tried them in a 10 and there was just too much room to hide. I had to downsize to get the deed done ;)

cocker~ is capatta juice the indian almond leaf or something completely different?
