great fish, not a great camera(actually it's the phone) but here goes, He came from Petco and the cup said Delta, the tail is rather frilly so any other opinions welcome

he looks more like hm to me, but is his dorsal realy that long. it would be easier to see if you could snap us a pic of him flairing.

here's another, but I couldn't get him to flare and take the pic at the same time

I'm sending a pic(on the right) of my other fish too, just because I like him(Wyatt)

he appears to be SD.... (kinda looks FT as well if that is not fin damage). Does his back fin extend 180 degees when he flares? Hard to tell with the low quality pics.

Can you access a nice digital camera? I would love to see more of both of these guys. They look SWEEEET! :good:

I just got a digital but I haven't installed the software yet(not doing it tonight, sorry) what FT, as in feathertail? that's what I was hoping for, there's no damage. The guy on the right was determined by Modaz (or someone with experience on here) to be a 6 ray crown tail superdelt (he was sold to me as a HM) as soon as I get the camera set up I'm flooding the net with my pics

yes, feathertail. well... they are both certainly awesome. cant wait to see more pics!

from what i can see he looks like he is the product of someone trying to create a halfsun, a very nice fish to have, extensions not long enough to ct, im taking it from the larger pic and its not clear but this is what im having a shot at at this time until a more focused pic arrives :good: he defo not a feathertail.

Daz. you dont know what you are talking about :p

Lol, well. Not a feathertail then. I'll keep my rare tail identifications to myself now

yeh, he's got funny coloring too, I imagine that if he'd turned out like what he was supposed to he would'nt have ended up in a cup at Petco and I got him cause he looked the worst of all ... he was blackish grey when I picked him up, and he's actually a steel blue, with red? and clear, the pattern is not 'confirmation' in any case, because the redc panel only appears on the caudal, the other 2 fins are the blue, and transparent... I may have the camera software loaded tomorrow

daz i think you might have got a bit confused here, there are 3 photos up. 2 are of dexter (the supposed feathertail) the 3rd (and largest photo) is of wyatt, who is a different fish. as far as i can see, dexter doesn't have any webbing reduction (although there may be some that i'm just not noticing.

anyway, i'm sure it will all become clear once the new digital photo's are up :good:

Upload failed. The file was larger than the available space, I'll keep messing with it, perhaps someone can tell me what to do
thanks
