DiscusAngel, thank you,

I have recently got back into fish keeping from many years ago, blimey how things have moved on since then with fishless cycling etc.

I bought this tank a Jewel vision 180 and really want to make a success of growing natural plants this time but I am struggling with Algae just at the moment.

Looks good i have always liked the black substrate. If you look in the planted section it has some great articles pinned on planted tanks. Whitch once i get my 210 gallon tank and move everyone else up a notch then my lil 33 gallon will become a planted tank.

Thank you all for your replies,

I have 10 Neons, 10 Penguin Tetras and added yesterday a male and female Geophagus Steindachneri (which i used to have before and breed).

The Algae is the brown version and have added more plants yesterday, i have turned down my CO2 a little bit and will monitor this over the next few days, I have also split up my lighting period to 5 on 2 off 5 on having read a great deal in the forums.

I thought I would show 1 more of the tank, this guy really does follow the femail everywhere I don't know how she puts up with it, great to watch though.

Love the tank, the picture quality is outstanding. What camera are you using? I assume it must be DSLR?

My D70s far out does my skill levels, and i can't for the life of me take piccies like that!!!

Simon,

that it is the same camera as mine, yes it does take a lot of shots to get a good one, you cant use the flash due to reflections and you have to use a low F number to let as much light in as possible but the depth of field gets a bit short, then switching to manual focus also makes getting the right shot nearly impossible !!!

At first I thought the colours were a little strong but that is what the tank is like.

This shot was sooooooo close but the focul point was not right
