Thought it was about time I posted my tank on here. Just got it last month to replace an Aqua one 320 (so used my gravel and filter media/sponges to seed the tank.

Hopefully the pics will come out in order I put them on, tank built and background applied

I then partially filled the tank with gravel with the seperate are for the silica sand guarded off by rocks (need more gravel hence the large hole)

Then bought plants off ebay but found out later a lot of them are only semi aquatic, so will get some replacements when & if they die off

Now fully loaded with gravel and planted, daytime

I had 5 popsocks with the old gravel in the tank to help prevent cycle and sponges & ceramic nodule from my old external filter in the tank. Currently down to 3 popsocks (1 being removed per week) and i am going to change over from carbon cartridges that come with it to Purigen & Green Phosphate x, so hopefully that will help with the plant growth.

Will add a small CO2 unit later that i am hoping Santa will bring me !!!!! :D

Love it!! I have always loved the aqua tanks with the rounded corners, got a 380 and 620 myself. I really like the way you've set it up. How do you find the filter? Its the only thing that I don't like about them, I always get my hubby to 'cut' them out and use an fluval instead! :lol:
I love the 'blue' light you've got in there! Can I ask where you got it and how much please!
Plants and bogwood look fantastic! :good:

Filter is working out well at the moment, as I said I am changing from using the carbon cartridges to other products that will hopefully work even better in there.

I was going to get the 65l tank and buy another external filter, but like the simplicity of the top filter

blue led's are from Pets@Home, but I have seen them all over, they are the Marina hub and blue lights, cost me £10 for the hub and £4.99 per light (hub will work 3 lights). as I said I now how one of both sides and the fish seem to love it

Thanks for that. I've got moomlights bought form ebay for the 620 but I think I'll get one like yours for the smaller tank. I think it looks great!!

Looks good although you hve some plants in there that are not actually aquatic plants that will soon die and foul your water, you should really remove them asap.Its the one with the green and white leaves and the one with green and red leaves(I have the same kind planted in a pot on top of my computer monitor).

Agree. I am quite sure the green with white plant is non-aquatic. :)

yeah I know, bought bunches off ebay, shop had great feed-back rating, only after I put everything in did I find this out, purple one is dead and gone, white ones will be joining it soon, keeping them in until they start dying to give the fish cover in their new tank.

Will replace them, when I dont have so many xmas pesents to buy and have time to get to a fish shop.

the tank looks great
love the suggestion of a path that is made by those flatish stones
DD

Thanks, I wanted some way to seperate the two gravel area's in there and came up with that idea, my two cory's seems to love the different areas and use the stones to launch themselves towards the top of the tank, its funny to watch

Need something for the r/h side of tank I think, some sort of slate cave or mangroove root thing, something the fish can hide in or swim through, anyone got any suggestions & pictures ?

not knowing how to do the conversion, can someone tell me if my tanks lighting is adequate for encouraging plant growth, if not, what do i need to do to help this ?

I am about to add a Nutrafin Co2 kit, so i guess thats a start.

Aqua one 510 (75l) - Lighting: 2x11w PL

Hhhmm its on the low end of the scale but your plants hopefully will survive. Dont expect to see amazing growth though. If you could then add some more light in there. Say 18W. Having the CO2 in there will definetly give you an advantage.

well tank has some other additions now and a re-arrange & addition of Co2 unit. I have added one of the black mollies (they are lyre tail ones) from my orb. I bought 2 the other day and both were still hiding yesterday so I thought they must be gettting terrorised by the Betta in there because of the tail-shape, so I tried to take them out, but could only get one in the short time I had as it was xmas day

Since doing this one moved to this tank hides around the filter area, but comes out occasionally amognst the others and the one in the orb is doing laps quite the thing, so no idea whats happening there.

Co2 unit seems to be producing 1 bubble per minute/minute and a half just now just read in the plants C02 thread that this might be due to low room temp, but dont know how I can combat this, need to think this through, rom usually sits at 20degrees.

pics as promised, cant wait for three bunches in there to grow the cover the back more and you can see the Co2 ladder up the back right.

three bunches at back that I bought turned to brown mush and Im not happy about it, cant wait to go to LFS and do my dinger about it.

Co2 running much better now I have put the cannister above the light but thats really ugly and need to trial it in various hidden placed to keep the bubble rate up, test results are as follows, so if anyone can help me decypher :

GH = 60ppm (3drops of solution)
KH = 30ppm-40ppm
Although both are very hard to try and read
PH = 6.9

So all good so far I think, anyone agree ?
