My Lilaeopsis brasiliensis  going to be brownish from the top..

i don't want to lose this plant as i worked hard to get it..

so what that measn?? is it IRON deficiency??

i done N,P,K and seachem flourish.. also CO2 running..

Thanx

How high is your lighting? My experiences with this plant shows that it needs nutrients at its roots and high lighting.

Hi.

Ive been growing this plant with great succes.I have loads.

The trick i have found is LOTS OF LIGHT!!!!!!!

Kamel.

You are running about 1.6 watts per Gallon.Thats to low for this plant.Im running at 4 WPG and C02 injection.

I would say up your lights to atleast 2.5 WPG then you should not have a need for C02.

Keep im mind this is a very slow growing plant.

Hi.

From this picture you can see that it actually turns yellow and then brown.Yellow in plants normally is due to lack of light or incorrect lights. The same as putting a cover over part of your lawn.Week later the grass have turned yellow.BUT can also bee due to lack of Iron and some otehr stuff.I would go with the light problem.

Ok. i'll try to upgrade my lighting..

but im wondering what kind of light's to get?

can i use Metal halid 2 X 70 Watt?

is that enough.. it's expensive too.

my Vallisneria americana var americana 'Rubra' turned to yellow too.. i think it's iron problem, not lighting.. cuz i've this plant growing like mad

about my substrate.. it was rich of iron,, so that means i need to change my substrate?? or just ad iron..

and there's an IRON powerd for gardens plant.. can i use it?

it's wrriten on it that add 6% of iron. without how much in ppm...
just use 20 gram for 20 litre and you'll get 6% of iron.. that was for garden plant's..

can i use it for my aquatic plant's and i've 200 littre, so i've to add 200 gram????

anyone can help will be appreciated..

Im in South Africa so dif to say what products you guys have.

Ive been using Seachem Florish and Excle togehter with great succes.I suggest you go for them and upgrade lights and again dont know what is availabile.

I've seachem flourish, nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus...

i have substrate from tetra crypto and initial sticks D...

but i'm not sure about my substrate.. that was from 6 months ago..

i think the iron is consumed from it..

is that logical?? should i change my substrate?

Dosing ferts will do more harm than good with plants that are suffering due to light deficiency. Suffering plants attract algae, this combined with nutrients contained in the ferts may well lead to more algae.

Are you sure you need to be dosing nitrates and phosphates? With only 1.6wpg and what looks like a fairly low planting density, unless you have virtually no fish, then additional N and P are unlikely required.

How are your other plants doing? Do you have a full-tank shot?
