my first betta :D :D :D :D :D :D

i'm sooo excited, had a molly in his tank keeping it cycled for the last few weeksn, just moved him this morning and been tinkering with the plantine etc getting everything ready.

everytime I hear a car outside I'm running to the window to see if it's him. Really need to learn to control myself and calm down.

I'm meant to be doing some housework and hoovering the stairs, but I don't weant to incase I don't hear the post knocking

well he just got here and      he is absolutely stunning. much nicer than in that pic.

popped him in the tank and he went adn sat on a leaf, promptly fell off it and just layed on the floor, made me panic a bit (must have 50+ fish, you'd have thought i'd have learnt not to panic when a fish is a little shell shocked going into a new tank?!) but after a few minutes he started to wriggle around and check out his new home, kept to just one little corner of the tank for the first few mins then all of a sudden lept up and went exploring. He looks so happy bless him, been checking out all round his new tank, his colours are gorgeous and his fins all look pretty good. I've got 1 white and 1 blue bulb in the tank and when he goes under the blue one he gets a torquise sheen to his colours and he looks simply breathtaking.

ha ha ha I popped a little bit of food in before just to see if he'd eat and he ignored it, well he just went to have a go at it, took a little bite and a chunk of food landed on his head, he just looked so shocked! silly thing   :hyper: well if he's trying to eat already then that's a v good sign.

I'll try and get some pics up tonight :D

   It is very scary getting fish thro the post! Mine came when I was at work, hubby wat at home, but I made him open the box in case they were DOA!
I have just got a tank ready in case I get my yellow one next Tuesday! Bang goes my hospital tank again, car boots here I come!! :good:
ps look forward to seeing your piccies.

yeah Ian's betta was our first postal delivery, we were both worried :/ thougth it'd be better this time, no such luck though I was still panicking, born worrier, I just can't help myself.

bad though, I'm now sat at work wondering how he is and considering if I can take another hr off and leave early tonight to go see him

wow! he looks 100x nicer in those new photos ( no offence to your photo taking skill joby :p )
his fins seem much more super-delta like. he looks like he has a nice and roomy tank , might i ask on what size the tank is ?

heres his brother - i hope his fins open up as much when i ( fingers crossed ) get him.

the tank is 8.something gallos, my betta rinsewind may wel someday move up to a larger tank too...

Tank envy is a bad thing in a relationship

Good to see him settled in his new home

Dave, they are so difficult to get the colours right. I take them in normal flourescent room light but in tank lights they change again

The one you like has more blue/green coming on him now, his gran was marble so it does carry through. He is opening up nicely. Will take some new pics during next week.

Just jarred a load more from same parents, but younger spawn. Lots of picture taking for me :look:

yeah he's settled in lovely now  he's ace, a right little character :D
