Of those pics, the only one (I think) might work is the lovely little gourami :dunno:

Your right, though some of the others might make a nice signature. Looks like the 15g is starting to clear up too. One more nice water change, and it'll be back to normal and ready for pictures. I have the camera until Friday.

It feels so great to finally have decent pictures of my tanks. They were a lot of work and you just didn't see the effort with the camera phone. I am going to beg mother for a digital camera when I return.

So what kind of tank is this? Several people have mentioned Jungle in there description. Is this a type, or just what is coming to mind? I only really know of two categories Dutch and Amano or Nature style. If I had to call it something, I'd call it "I'm taking it apart soon and I just want to grow some serious plants!" :p

Obviously there is some degree of personal interpretation involved but I'd say your layout is definitely more Nature than Dutch.

Let me explain....

For me and most other "serious" aquascapers there are two main styles, Dutch and Nature. Dutch being like flowerbeds, ordely arranged stems. Nature is harder to define and can be represented by many looks. Generally though they all have the same "feel" i.e. they look like a scene from nature itself. It could be on land, rolling hills or a mountain, an underwater scene, even under the ocean.

The Jungle style in my opinion is simply a convenient way to describe a layout that conforms to neither style ridgedly, it just looks a bit wild - for want of a better description, like a jungle. I have heard of "Jungle" as being described as its own style though.

I dig it, totally. It's always refreshing to see 'jungle' style (for want of a better word). That's some nice healthy A. nana 'petite' too... aren't you worried about your A. nana being in direct light, though?

Usually, I have a giant clump of duckweed growing right over the A. nana, so algae isn't a real issue, but I removed it for picture time. Knowing duckweed, it'll be back in a day or two. :crazy:
 
Personally I don't "define" my style in my tank as your arrangement is personal preference. That it looks good to you is what's important. But, probably less important is the fact that I think it looks great!

Snails stink, I had a majopr snail infestation until I picked up 4 Yo-yo Loaches, a week later and my 100 snails are down to about 4! I lov those little Loaches!

And about that duckweed, I have a certian 29 gallon that wouldn't mind any! j/k!
 
I am rearranging all the plants in my tank. I am super bored from Spring break. Major overhaul. I figured one more month of fun before I take it all apart. :lol:

Well, the plan is to put all these plants in a 36g in Miami, so I'm just letting them grow. I actually have some creeping jenny poking through the surface so I'm a little interested in seeing if it'll produce flowers. I have a large area in my 36g that will allow for above surface growth, so I'm kind of on the look out as to which of my plant species have the nicest flowers. I know I'll definitely let my lotus send stalks to the surface.

I'm getting the digital camera tomorrow. I want to take some good pictures since I want to write a few more plant profiles before I move.

Close-up of sparkling gouramis and what I think is a R. hengeli. I've got I think 5 R. hengeli and 1 R. espei that got into the group. They still school together. Great fish, they school really well and I think will be a compliment to the harlequins when I put them together in my 36g.

I added a lot of R. rotundifolia, it is my new favorite plant, the growth is just really lovely. The combination of the rotundifolia, the H. difformis and the creeping jenny has, I think a lot of potential.

Thats exactly what journals are for! Keep the pics coming, I love seeing great looking tanks such as yours! They help to inspire me and remind me that in a few months my tank should be on the way to where I want it! Keep up the good work!
 
Thats madness! Im surprised the fish have any room left to swim around! you certainly know how to grow plants! And yes this is exactly what journals are for, I love seeing pics of peoples tanks! :D

I appreciate the compliments, you are all very kind. My tanks are nothing special really, especially compared to the masterpieces you have in this forum alone. Both tanks kind of now function as grow-out tanks for the 36g in Miami. I'm growing a few species, like tiger lotus and barclaya longifolia to use as specimen plants in the new tank. Because of that, I'm expecting some pretty wild growth. I haven't decided what to do with the anubias yet, no Fishkiller, I'm not giving them to you. :p They may only be in the 36g for a little while. I have a 20g high that may do well as a low-light tank, for some wild bettas or more rare gouramis species.
