thanks.Im a beginner as well.still got loads to learn.I got this tank in september time.I have a 2 and half foot as well (this one is 4ft) which ive had about 18months or so.its very addictive isnt it.

just had to post an add on!!!!!ive ordered my new fish tank!!!its lovely,its 6 and a half foot long,on a solid iak cabinet and hood.Its coming on tuesday I cant wait.................

i have a 4G setup waiting for inhabitants and i was goin for a betta till recently when ive seen some DP threads and pics.
would you reccomend them over a betta??
how big do they grow.
also, how long does it take a bala to grow?

we have had to rehome our puffer.we were advised by some members on here that they needed brackish water and so we didnt think it was fair to keep him in conditions we couldnt provide.He was also a BIG fin nipper.
balas grow quite big about 13 inches ive been told.ours are about 9inches and about 4 years old and weve just ordered a new 6 and half foot tank for them.They are beautiful fish though and very placid but quite skittish
