He's just a black marble... a very strange and cute one, but still. He'll produce marbled fry if bred with a marbled female, same as all marbled fry... with black blotches in completely random places.

Personally (and i dont wish to offend) but i've seen prettier bettas in my LFS. Its an unusual marking but why the huge price tag for a fish with a bit of black on its head? I dont understand...

I think that probably is what they're expecting... a bunch of little Zorro babies. I wish I could see the look on the winner's face after the first spawn

What happens if it dies in shipping?
They replace it with a comparable value? HOW? This guy'll wind up with a plain blue veiltail or something.

Or a worse scenario. He gets the fish but doesn't know how to properly care for it and it dies in a month or gets eaten by his Oscar or something.

I keep thinking someone is messing around and isn't planning on delivering the money they're bidding. It just seems odd. I guess if you have tons of money to throw around then it's just a drop in the bucket. People spend thousands upon thousands for pedigree dogs and cats (not to mention their diamond studded collars, fur lined beds, and designer sweaters) so I guess if your thing is bettas and you've got the money......why not? One of us should come up with some designer tank accessories for these kind of buyers.
