they are best in a species tank as they are quite timid (they wont compete for food)

Just found this picture on another forum I visit, this lucky bugger has got his Zebras to breed twice with a good survival rate too.

Here's one of his photos of his second batch of fry in the breeding trap.

It's a shame that he's in Singapore!

Species tank is a tank specifically for one species of fish... i.e. just Zebra Plecs and no others fish in the tank at all..... ;)

Um, im not 100% sure about this but i believe that a certain species of zebra plec has recently (within the last fortnight) been declared as a rotected secies aned therefore it has become impossible/ or extremely difficult to, imort them into this country, correct me if im worng, im only goin on what has been said at my lfs :dunno:

I like these as well. :) I nearly bought some as i thought they were £6 each.Never noticed the little zero after the six. :( :( Glad i never if they need their own tank. :p

Even £60 is a damn good price, If I found them at that price around here, I might be tempted to get a trio and try my hand at breeding them. I'm sure we can squeeze in another tank somewhere!

I'd sell a TV - their tank can go there!

If i saw that price...I'd faint in Australia there are so little of the buggers that they are around $1k each

sweet merciful crap!

I haven't met anybody who wouldn't like to have a zebra pleco, but $1k is too steep

SirMinion, you would make some sweet dividends on your investment if you got a pair to breed! Especially if you send em to Australia. :hey:

He could that, but if he was caught we wouldn't be seeing him in a long time
