one of my zebra danios has redness in his gills and swimming back and forth really fast in one corner of the tank, also he has red poo. does anyone know if there's something wrong?

How big is the tank, other inhabitants? Water test results? How long has it been set up and is it cycled?

The more info you can give the better we can help.

How long has the fish been doing it?

the tank is 240 litre's and there 9 zebra danios, 6 mollies, 4 guppies, 2 dwarf gouramis, 2 clown loaches and 1 clown pleco.

the tank has been set up for 9 week's and i took some of my water to my lfs a couple weeks ago and they said it was ok.

the zebra danio has just been doing it today i just noticed it before, ive also noticed other danios and some mollies have redness in gills to.

he could have been nipped or have a fungi infection? not too sure though just giving you the obvious lol

Hmm..without test results it's a bit hard to eliminate things. I'd do a big water change (somewhere between 40 and 60%) today, and tomorrow if you can, and see how they look then.

lol yea maybe do fungi infections cause red gills if so how can it be treated? thanks.

No, fungus appears as fluffy white patches on the fish's bodies.

The most common cause of red gills is poor water with ammonia and nitrite being present, both of which can effect the gills. If you don't have any test results, always assume that's it's a water problem and do a couple of big changes; it's the best thing to do, rather than throwing meds in when you're not sure what's wrong.

yea il do a water change now is it ok to use water straight from the tap though because i was told that it harmfull to fish?? i usually use bottled water,

Don't you have any dechlorinator?
