I know high NitrAtes are bad, but what are their immediate effect on YoYo Loaches? I have a problem and have to figure out what it is. All other fish in the tank are fine and acting normal. I do weekly 25-30% water changes.

All other stats are perfect.

What exactly are your stats?
what exactly is your problem?

2 of my YoYo loaches died Thursday night and I am trying to figure out why. All the other stats are fine except for the Nitrates. They are around 45 ppm. I have done a big water change. All other fish are fine. I have 4 peppered cories and they are fine and Im thinking they would also be effected since they are always on the bottom like the loaches. I have some Botia Striata that are fine too. They were fine Wednesday night, at least they looked and acted fine. Any ideas what could have happened?

EDIT:

Exact Stats:

Nitrite: 0
Ammonia: 0
PH:7.1
Nitrate: 45 PPM

ok
45ppm is perfectly fine
so that leaves another cause
were there any preceding symptoms, like flicking, heavy breathing, lethargy etc?

sudden unexplained deaths with no other symptoms is often a sign of an internal bacterial problem

One of them was breathing hard last night. Im thinking it is an internal problem too. But it seems its only effecting the yoyo loaches. As you know, cories get internal infections very easily and they show no signs. It was a sudden thing. I could not find the loaches when I got home from work yesterday, so the first thing I did is look on the floor to see if they some how got out. Then I looked in the tank and found them in the back behind some rocks where they usually sleep. Ive been checking the tank all day and the Danios, Neons, and all other fish seem fine and are very active as usual.
